Tips - 5 Different ways to create MM background

Image
Hello Friends This is Veena, today I am here on the Expressions Craft blog to share a few tips to create Mixed-Media backgrounds. These are great to create MM projects,  tags, embellishments and bookmarks. I have used Dimensional Heavy Gel, Texture Pastes, Chroma Burst, Metallic Sprays and Glitters. I have used my favorite shades of blue and purple. You can get similar results using any other shade. Video Link and material list is provided later in the blog post. Below are the details: I have used ATCs as the base which are primed with White and Black Gesso. 1. Technique - Mix Dimensional Heavy Gel with Chroma Burst and apply it through a stencil.  Chroma Burst is highly pigmented so you do not need a lot for the mix. 2. Technique - Mix Texture paste with Chroma Burst and apply it through a stencil. 3. Technique - Color the ATCs with Metallic Sprays and apply a thin layer of Texture Paste through a stencil.  The texture paste will pick the background color and will give a gorgeous eff

“All Good things”

Hello Crafty Friends, This is Veena again with another DT inspiration for "49 and Market". This time, I have created a Mixed Media Canvas using “Vintage Artistry Lilac” and “Irrevocable Beauty” collections. As it has vibrant, lively colors and represents a cheerful environment, I created this for the entrance of the living room. Process Video: Project Pictures: For the background, I chose “Vintage Artistry Lilac – Tranquil” paper from the 12X12 paper pack. I started with a window laser cut from “Vintage Artistry Lilac” which is my focal element and created a background for it using “Loves Me Loves Me Not” paper from “Irrevocable Beauty”. I used cardboard pieces to give height to the window. I then started building the composition around the focal element. I have used laser cuts from “Vintage Artistry Lilac”, ephemera elements from the “Vintage Artistry Lilac Ephemera Stacks”. I have used a chipboard oval frame for highlighting the flower and clock laser cut of “Vintage Artis

Beautiful Love

Hello Crafty Friends, A very Happy New Year! This is Veena, today I am here on 49 and Market blog to share my first DT project. I have created a Mixed Media Layout featuring Sage and Blush collection. In India mother’s sister is called “Massi” which means “like a mother”. This layout is inspired from the motherly bond I share with my sweet niece. I found this picture on Pinterest which represents the same. You all know, the little girls love pink and her garden, so I chose this collection and created a flower garden around the Photo.     For the background, I chose “Vintage Artistry Sage- Delicate” paper from the 12X12 Sage paper pack. I started by layering the ephemera elements from the “Vintage Artistry Blush Ephemera Stacks”. I have used carboard pieces between each ephemera layer to give the project depth and height. I then used Blush/ Sage rub-ons transfer around the composition.   I then started prepping the embellishments - embossed the net chipboard from “6X6
